The report which we found was published by the government. The problem was finding the website of the document. We could find the official document on either third-party sites or on the links where it gets downloaded automatically. There was also a problem finding the reports of some previous years. But through our research, we came to know that the government releases the data every year and different news agencies use them. We wrote to the authorities but did not get any reply from them.
From the above link, we can download the official document directly.
When it comes to data, The information is presented in tabular form, which provides a readily identifiable pattern of accident locations and causation patterns. Mr. Richard Domingo in 2015 opined that this dataset published by the government may be underreported because the data is collected from the police stations weekly on the basis of police blotter reports and not all traffic incidents get recorded in these reports. Also, the police will not know the further condition of the injured person who may die due to the injuries. So possibly there may be more accidents and deaths than the data shows.
