Data on air quality (e.g. levels of major pollutants) on a granular basis - that is at least broken down by month (preferably by day). Geographic breakdown (e.g. by grid point) would be nice but is not required.

The website published real-time air quality data.

For past data, you can select by starting and ending data from the bottom part of the page and click export on the next page to get the excel form of air quality data by the daily average.

It is common knowledge that the air quality data published by the government of Shanghai perform better than other observers, mainly the US Consulate in Shanghai.

US Consulate also publishes air quality data(but only based on the monitoring point there) hourly, and only containing PM 2.5 and air quality index.

For Shanghai, the SEMC and US consulate are the two main authorities, along with CWOP (Citizen Weather Observer Program) and China National Urban air quality real-time publishing platform.
